Bored Students’ Most Visited Websites

Bored Students’ Most Visited Websites

A list of popular websites visited by bored students while the professor lectures!

Students with laptops in colleges and universities look tremendously serious about their studies. But this is usually true outside of the class. When the lecture is on the use of laptops is kept usually for entertainment and time killing purposes. In a funny way, this becomes a surveillance experience for others who do not bring theirs to the class. Fortunately, I have been one of them. So here are the top 5 I have noticed so far!

1. Facebook- This is one of the first websites majority of the students visit. Female students usually visit their female friends’ sites which I will say is not that fun to observe! Actually, the most interesting creatures are male students. If you get a chance to catch one surfing the Facebook do notice the amount of time he spends on writing messages on the walls of his female friends’ profiles. Also these male species have a tendency to take in every bit of those females’ photo albums.

2. Yahoo mail/Gmail- Next is the time to check whether someone emailed or not! Both males and females go through their inboxes. When nothing new is found they spend the time rereading the old ones! Once one looks interesting, they write a reply to it. But if the professor is allergic to the sound of typing they cancel the replying part.

3. Online bank/Cell phone account- During the boring lecture session it is also seen that many become conscious about the health of their personal finances. Therefore, while some students sharply revise their bank statements online, others inspect the cell phone bill statement to verify if they have been charged extra for a feature they are not familiar with! Additionally, a few often takes the class session as the high time for paying bills and so forth.

4. Amazon- Next stop is usually Amazon.com. Just because personal finance is mentioned above does no mean that the students visit the site for shopping. Basically, the main intention to be on Amazon during class hour is to just look around so the time is killed. However, the behavior of male and female students varies here. That is, while the men take a journey through the pictures and features of new shoes, women indulge themselves in checking out purses and jewelry.

5. Aim/Gmail Chat machine- This is usually the last resort for anyone who is shy to visit other juicy sites in public. The typing is done softy so the professor is not disturbed. And the person to chat with is usually anyone online from the buddy or contact list. It is not even important to be completely acquainted to the person. Once the class session is off that chat buddy is slammed to be unknown all over again!
